Check your life insurance and critical illness cover

Thomas Oliver team up with Cura Insurance to offer protection cover

Tuesday 9 November, 2021

Ellie Newman, Insurance Broker in North London, Cheshunt, and Hertfordshire, discusses the benefits of offering protection cover by Cura Insurance.

The pandemic has focused clients on protection planning

It will come as no surprise that many of us have used the global pandemic as an opportunity to get our lives in order. More than ever clients are taking initiatives to make sure their homes and families are protected, and purchasing life insurance, critical illness cover or income protection. Clients are also making sure they have Wills and Lasting Power of Attorneys in place. This is a very positive reaction to the pandemic and shows that as a society we are starting to see what really matters and getting are priorities in place.

Protection providers are now slightly stricter on who they cover

Unfortunately, a lot of individuals who have tried to purchase life assurance and critical illness cover during the last eighteen months may have been declined cover, as the pandemic has made protection providers slightly stricter on who they are covering due to increased pay-outs.

Cura Insurance helps clients who have struggled to purchase protection cover

As a result of this situation Thomas Oliver decided to team up with Cura Insurance to help those clients who couldn’t purchase protection policies themselves. This is great news for individuals that feel there is no option for them, and who are desperate to protect their family in case the worst was to happen.

Who can get protection cover now?

Some of the individuals who may be unaware they can get covered under our new proposal includes individuals with HIV, anyone with a history of cancer, heart attacks and mental health issues. We can also now help the armed forces, those working offshore and in high-risk war zones. Finally, a lot of adrenaline seeking individuals who enjoy rock climbing and motor racing would have historically struggled to get the right cover, but under our new proposal this is less likely to be an issue.

Ellie Newman, insurance broker and financial adviser in North London, Cheshunt, and Hertfordshire said: ‘Overall having a partnership with Cura Insurance and being able to help clients that we weren’t previously able to assist is nothing but a massive boost and positive step in the right direction. It is important to note that working with Cura Insurance allows us to provide different types of protection cover. We can help clients with life cover, income protection and critical illness cover.
